So todays luncheon was with the creator of www.turnitin.com It was fascinating! First off, the guy could be Will Ferril's twin brother. He was charming and a great speaker. Very captivating and animated. He started out studying rhetoric and did his master's in brain wave research and is teaching at Berkley. That is where he came up with the idea of turnitin.com and they get hundreds of thousands of submissions a day (about 40,000 from our school). really cool stories. though!

Todays luncheon

Today I had a luncheon with the head golf coach for the female team here. She was really cool. She was in the LPGA (very lucrative financially!) and started playing at age 9 with Tiger Woods. She told us how he wakes up at 5am to go to the gym, goes home for breakfast, then practices for 8 hours and goes to bed around 7:30pm and how his Dad seemed so tough to help him focus...oh- we also heard all about caddies and dang- they can make up to 10% of the winnings. It is a whole different world. Really interesting though!

Crazy story of the day

So I was walking with MC to the credit union (she is my body guard) and she was telling me the story of how her friend saw this car lose it's entire tire off of it's rim on the east bound lane of 408 and how it flew into the west bound lane and hit an SUV.
So then I was talking to Marty a few hours later who proceeded to tell me how he was driving on the east bound 408 and his tire flew off!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT!?!? Now that was a crazy coincidence! I heard the same story twice in 1 day.

Whoa- when we were at the vet- this was in the display. We were thinking to ourselves "What the heck is this vet selling?!?!" If you look closely, it is a dog brush. What were they thinking!?!?

Of course, the day after the vet, Monkee was fine. We totally got hosed trying to be good pet owners. Arghhh.

In August, my parents black lab Barney died (he was 15- most people estimate 10-12 years for a lab). He was the staple for the theircats. Then in October I believe, Toonces past on b/c Barney was his world. He too was either 14 or 15. Today, poor Mau kitty died in his sleep so he could join his friends.

Now my parents are pet free so on the bright side, they can come visit me more often without worrying about a sitter....

My dog is broken

I don't know what is up with Monkee.
He can't put any weight at all on his back left paw. I think he has a fiber optic in it (those hurt!) but we can't see it so we will be taking him to the vet today :(

Vacation is coming to an end

Sigh, back to work for everyone tomorrow.
Charles installed the bed cover, the hydrolics for the tailgate and the bed extender on his truck over the holiday break. It looks great.


Mike helped us install the light sensor onto on front light.


We also refined our beer pong skills:




We had a lovely New Years Eve party at the Roses. Chaz was in charge of fireworks. When is it not a good time at the Roses though, really?!
