V Day

Today was Valentine's Day and Charles was awesome. He got me a big ole gift card to Ulta which is always fun and he did this elaborate Hallmark speech- you know how he is. We also got to take care of some car stuff today and leave work early but that ended sooner than expected so we went to a bar mid day. So scandalous.

However- here is another highlight from my Valentine's Day that my sister emailed me:

So . . . today after school I was telling Ben that tomorrow is Valentine's Day. I asked him who he wanted to be his Valentine - hoping it would be me - but figuring it would be Samantha, his best friend at school.

You know who won?! YOU!!!

He said, "Aunt Jill! Aunt Jill is going to be my Valentine! I love her and she has a Saturn Outlook and she is going to send me a letter in the mail! She's gonna send me a Valentine! I want Aunt Jill to be my Valentine!"

LOL - man! You're way up in Orlando and you still won the boy's heart!

How cute is he?! You sure rate! You beat out Samantha and Baby Gigi!

LOL

Yes- I am very competitive to be the coolest aunt ever. Score!

Love,
Jeannie

Finally- a good scary movie!

I saw the movie 'The Eye'' with Mel & Lori last night (they are my scary movie crew!)- and it was a good movie! It made you jump, it had closure at the end, and was the good scary movie I have been waiting for!

Today was the luncheon with the head coach- O'Leary.
It's funny, I don't get intimidated by the President of Poland or the Director of NASA, but I was nervous about O'Leary! The day started out with everything hitting the fan. As per our usual regime, I told the speaker to park in my Dean's reserved spot. However, my Dean had a prospective donor coming in (donors trump speakers...). So crap! Now I had to find some other plan for parking for the coach (and we all know how bad lunchtime parking is on campus!!!). So then, my Dean also lost his hangtag- so my back up plan of the service tag was out. Long story short, I had someone from Athletics agree to drive him over here and pick him up.

It was a really awesome luncheon. He was really personable. I learned that he has been married for 40 years. He has 4 kids. Oh- he made 4 guys who came in wearing baseball caps (indoors!) take off their hats. I like that about him. Two of his kids go to GA Tech. He used to coach for the Minnesota Vikings. He wore a cute knights sweater vest. He has 9 coaches under him. He is 62. Eighty-five of his athletes get full rides and he also takes in 25 walk-ins. He benched Kevin Smith at the last USF game b/c he missed a class. We talked about endorsements (how we use Addidas as opposed to Nike for example). I asked about recruiting and all sorts of stuff. It was a blast. Oh- then he asked us a trivia question- to name 10 body parts that are only 3 letters long (and none are bad words). Let me know if you want the answer.

Abbreviated Update

We had an event packed weekend. Friday was a bday party for Gordon & Jenn out in Eustis.
Saturday was Chaz bday shindig of laser tag, (cake making), dinner and a party at the house, then Sunday was the superbowl at Mikes house. I am still trying to recover from this past weekend.
Last Fridays luncheon was cool- we had this female surgeon whose specialty makes her only one of nine in the nation. She does both mamography and radiology (she used to do pancreas/liver surgeries but got bored with that). She was really impressive. Todays luncheon was with the director of constituent relations. She was a real charmer. It is always cool to hear the inside scoop of how other departments work on campus. This upcoming weekend my student org is going to the museum of science and industry in Tampa. They also have a cool surf lesson event coming up in partnership with Ron Jon's Surf Shop. Snazzy. They also have Orlando Magic bball games scheduled and performances like Wicked and MacBeth. Lots of cool stuff this semester.
Vday is right around the corner and we are trying to come up with a cool plan that costs.....nothing! I think I'd like a romantic trip to the beach. We'd have to go on the weekend tho. We will figure something out. Our anniversary is next month and we will be going on an exotic trip to........................................................ the side of the house to view our AC unit. Our vacation money is keeping us nice and cool. Oh well.
Amy gave me a minor heart attack. No one has heard from her in months. I contacted her other friends in different states and none of them have heard from her. I have emailed, texted, left voice mails- and nothing back till I texted her that I was going to call the GA PD to check up on her at 9am and she texted back at 8:50am that she was fine and in GA.

The cake fiasco

There was one mishap after the other.
Long story short, the boobie cake looked like it had a double masectomy. I then decided to play surgeon and reconstruct them with the extra pieces of cake I had that well, lets just say oozed over. Then the frosting wouldn't cooperate- the frosting actually tore it up more. So I baked cookies as a back up, went to Publix, bought a back up cake, then came home and retried the boobie cake and it did end up fabulous!
